Information collected
The software stores account and association membership information, community and private messages, trip registrations, offline payment records, warnings, uploaded forms, and parent-created homeschool records such as children, classes, attendance, lessons, grades, and portfolios. The Learning Center may also store courses, units, lessons, resources, enrollments, assignments, student submissions, instructor feedback, grades, progress, and guardian-created student usernames. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. The app does not collect card information, precise location, advertising identifiers, contacts, or health data automatically.
How information is used
Information is used to provide the association, private homeschool-management, and Learning Center functions selected by users, deliver enrolled coursework, show progress and feedback, keep accounts secure, answer support requests, and maintain service reliability. The Service Bench does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Who can see information
Association information is separated by association and role. Approved members can see the member directory without email addresses, association-visible files, event information, and allowed messages. Administrators manage member access and can see association payment, warning, document, roster, and moderation records. Parent academic records remain private to the parent account unless the parent intentionally exports or shares them. A guardian can see and control Learning Center access and work for that guardian’s children. A student can see only that student’s published enrolled courses, lessons, assignments, submissions, feedback, and progress. Association owners and administrators can manage the course catalog, staff assignments, and enrollment, but do not automatically see individual submissions or grades. An instructor can see enrollment, submissions, feedback, grades, and progress only for assigned courses and enrolled students. Association access alone does not provide access to a family’s private homeschool records or unrelated course work.
Children’s information and student access
The app is intended to be set up and controlled by adults managing an association or their own homeschool. A parent or guardian must create, consent to, and control each student sign-in and may reset or revoke it. Students must not create accounts independently. A student sign-in is not an adult association membership and cannot open member directories, association messages, administration tools, or the guardian’s private My Homeschool records. Users must not enter information about a child they are not authorized to manage.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept while an account or association remains active and as reasonably needed for security, legal, or support obligations. A signed-in adult user can open Account and permanently delete the account in the app. This removes private homeschool records, Learning Center courses and student access owned by that account, uploaded files, messages, memberships, and any association owned by that account, subject to limited retention required by law or security needs. A guardian can revoke an individual student sign-in without deleting the guardian account; revoking sign-in prevents access but does not by itself erase course or progress records. Support can also assist with access or deletion questions after identity verification.
Security
Adult and student passwords are hashed, sessions use protected cookies, write operations use anti-forgery tokens, uploads are type- and size-restricted, and association, course, assigned-instructor, enrollment, student, and parent-record access is checked on the server. No internet service can promise absolute security.
